ACL Pregnancy First Trimester Basic Package & NIPT

Prince Muhammad Bin Abdulaziz Rd As Sulimaniyah, Riyadh - 145KM

During the first trimester of pregnancy, a woman's body undergoes significant changes due to the release of hormones that affect almost every organ. One of the most prominent signs of pregnancy is the absence of a menstrual period. As the first few weeks progress, some women may experience fatigue, lower back pain, nausea, vomiting, and food cravings. To monitor the health of both the mother and fetus, ACL offers a basic package specifically designed for the first trimester. This package includes 15 tests that assess essential vitamins, minerals, and certain viruses. Additionally, it includes tests for HBA1c, body mass index, and blood pressure. It's important to note that fasting is not required for this package, and results are typically delivered within 24 to 48 hours.

Non-invasive prenatal tests (NIPTs) are primarily utilized to screen fetuses for genetic abnormalities. These tests involve obtaining a small blood sample, which is then sent to a laboratory for analysis of cell-free DNA (cfDNA). cfDNA is a type of DNA originating in the placenta and contains genetic information about the baby.

NIPTs are generally offered to pregnant women who are at risk of giving birth to a baby with chromosomal or genetic disorders such as Down Syndrome, Edwards syndrome, or Patau syndrome. Risk factors for such conditions may include a history of pregnancies with chromosomal abnormalities or a personal/family history of chromosomal abnormalities.

It is worth mentioning that NIPTs can also determine the gender of the fetus, as they examine the sex chromosomes. These tests can be performed as early as 10 weeks into the pregnancy, and the results are typically available within 7 to 10 days.

Package Contains
is based on the detection and characterization of circulating cell-free fetal DNA (ccffDNA) in maternal plasma and aims to identify genetic abnormalities
A complete blood count (CBC) is a blood test used to evaluate your overall health and detect a wide range of disorders, including anemia, infection and leukemia.
HbA1c is a blood test that is used to help diagnose and monitor people with diabetes. It is also sometimes called a haemoglobin A1c, glycated haemoglobin or glycosylated haemoglobin.
A blood type test is a simple blood test that aims to determine a persons blood type accurately, according to The types of proteins or antigens that appear on the surface of his red blood cells.
Random blood sugar (RBS) measures blood glucose regardless of when you last ate. Random testing is useful because glucose levels in healthy people do not vary widely throughout the day. Blood glucose levels that vary widely may mean a problem.
A bilirubin test measures the levels of bilirubin in your blood. Bilirubin (bil-ih-ROO-bin) is a yellowish pigment that is made during the normal breakdown of red blood cells. Bilirubin passes through the liver and is eventually excreted out of the body. Higher than normal levels of bilirubin may indicate different types of liver or bile duct problems
Vitamin B9 plays a key role in breaking down homocysteine, an amino acid that can exert harmful effects in the body if it is present in high amounts. Folate is also needed to produce healthy red blood cells and is critical during periods of rapid growth, such as during pregnancy and fetal development
A calcium blood test measures the amount of calcium in your blood. Calcium is one of the most important minerals in your body. You need calcium for healthy bones and teeth. Calcium is also essential for proper functioning of your nerves, muscles, and heart.
Iron tests measure different substances in the blood to check iron levels in your body. Iron is a mineral thats essential for making red blood cells. Red blood cells carry oxygen from your lungs to the rest of your body. Iron is also important for healthy muscles, bone marrow, and organ function. Iron levels that are too low or too high can cause serious health problems.
Rubella Antibody (IgM) - Rubella is an acute exanthematous viral infection of children and adults. Rash, fever and lymphadenopathy characterize the illness. While many infections are subclinical, this virus has the potential to cause fetal infection with resultant birth defects.
IgM antibodies are the only class produced by an unborn baby. When Toxoplasma IgM antibodies are present in a newborn, they indicate a congenital infection. If the molecular test is positive for T. gondii DNA, then the person tested has an active toxoplasmosis infection.
Blood pressure is the force of blood on the walls of blood vessels, through which it travels to supply all the tissues and organs of the body with food, oxygen, water and enzymes in what is known as the circulatory system.
BMI is a person's weight in kilograms (or pounds) divided by the square of height in meters (or feet). A high BMI can indicate high body fatness. BMI screens for weight categories that may lead to health problems, but it does not diagnose the body fatness or health of an individual.
A urinalysis is a simple test that looks at a small sample of your urine. It can help find problems that need treatment, including infections or kidney problems. It can also help find serious diseases in the early stages, like kidney disease, diabetes, or liver disease.
